4PM Synopsis and Plot Summary

The tranquil silence, the birds chirping on the branches, the quiet flowing the pond… And an elderly and friendly neighbour, Yuk Nam, paying the couple an early visit on their debut day. At 4:45, Yuk Nam appears at their front door, lays down on the sofa and over 2 hours turns into a dark hole through which all conversation efforts of the two end up dying slowly, in slow motion and are only sometimes met with stuttering, monosyllabic responses.

The man deemed it his obligation to visit them to show respect and that was the end of the story. But, the following day, around 4 o’clock, their doorbell rang. Oh, neighbor! What a wonderful surprise! Won’t you sit down? This is followed by two agonizingly long hours of awkward silence.

A recurring ritual that continues to unfold before their incredulous eyes every day on days three 4, 5 and sixteen, gradually making them insane. The neighbor’s wife is yet to appear.
