When the Phone Rings Synopsis and Plot Summary

It’s a story about a Show Window couple who have endured a period of silence for years, despite their union being not political, but then they get a message by an abductor. It is an adaptation of the book with the same title.

Yoo Yeon-seok is Baek Sa-eon. The son comes from a well-known family with impeccable credentials and is also the youngest presidential representative. Yoo Yeon-seok is a famous person who is a magnet for attention wherever he goes, having been a reporter for the army in war zones and as a hostage negotiation expert, and anchor for broadcasting public.

Chae Soo-bin plays Hong Hee-joo, Baek Saeon’s wife. She cannot communicate with her, or even eat meals together. She became disabled after an accident when she was a young girl. She is now employed as an interpreter signs.

Sa Eon and Hui Ju have been married for a long time because of convenience. For the past three years, they haven’t spoken between them or had dinner together. They appear to be happily married.
